Before we tell you of upcoming events and news we’d like to thank all the children and parents that make up The Agoge and Clever Little Monkeys: For your support of our club and our sport, and particularly the dedication you’ve shown throughout the Summer months and the move. It was really motivating for us to see you all make the trip to the new place and inspires to work harder for you.

Both Colm & Daniel are away, sorry! Training is back on Monday as per usual.

Young Danny graded for his blue belt today with the Agoge. Danny has really grown in the last while , displaying great maturity and a willingness to learn. He’s quite humble in class, without being too shy!

Here’s one clip of him escaping a hold by a much bigger training partner as part of his grading:

Guard is very important in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/Submission Wrestling. It allows a child on bottom to keep their partner’s weight of them and also gives them an opportunity to flip them over so they’re in top (called a sweep)

In this guard drill, the kids on top were instructed just to hold their partners down while the guys on bottom looked to take the back or sweep their partner.

• Mon & Wed: 18:30-19:30
• Sat: 11:00-12:00

Kirsty was the first Monkey to train in the new premises. While she was mildly upset the walls weren’t pink, she was excited by the rings.

Next training session Monday at 6.30 with the Agoge.

We’ve changed CleverLittleMonkeys.com over to a blog site. This way, it will be easier to update you with news and events!

Our big news is this - we’re moving home! We now have our own full time place in Unit 7, Taurus Business Centre, Greenhills Road, Tallaght.

Also, we’re adding a new, Saturday class. This class will allow you more flexibility when you want to train. So, if you miss a class during a week, or two isn’t enough, you can now train on Saturday morning as well.

Thanks to everyone who’ve stuck by us over the last few weeks. We hope to see you in our new club this week.
